Maui Restaurants with Some or All Gluten-Free Menus

There are two Maui restaurants that are completely gluten-free, and there are many Maui restaurants that have either a special menu page of gluten-free items, or individual items marked gluten-free on their regular menus, or the ability to make some of their regular menu items in gluten-free versions. This page is designed to help you find those restaurants.

Gluten is found in grains, including wheat, barley, and rye. People with celiac disease need to avoid eating foods that contain gluten, and many other people choose to avoid gluten for health reasons.

Maka by Mana is vegan as well as gluten-free and mostly raw. Info and menu, and photos are at Maka by Mana. The larger Maui Bread Company in Kihei is not all gluten-free, but they do have many gluten-free baked goods among their choices.

The most gluten-free choices I have found at any restaurant on Maui are at Honu and Mala in Lahaina.

The restaurants in these lists are arranged by area of the island and price category. Menus change, so call before going. If you are on a gluten-free diet, when you eat at any restaurant, whether on these lists or not, be sure to ask the owner or manager, as well as your waiter or waitress, to be sure that everything they serve you is gluten-free.
