Hawaii Honeymoon on which island?
Choosing Your Honeymoon Island, Hotel, Activities, Registry, Restaurants, or Planning Your Hawaii Wedding
There are six Hawaiian islands to choose from for your honeymoon. The best island is Maui. Oahu (Honolulu, Waikiki) is very crowded. The Big Island and Kauai don’t have much to do. Lanai and Molokai have even less to do. Maui has only one-tenth as many people as Oahu, but it has plenty of great activities, sightseeing, restaurants, beaches, and shopping. There is a lot more information about Maui at Maui Hawaii.
Below is info for choosing your Hawaii hotel or condo, things to do and activities, gift registry, restaurants, Hawaii weddings, wedding vows, and honeymoon packages.
Hawaii Honeymoon at which hotel or condo?
Maui Hotels and Maui Condos Luxury
If you like multiple fabulous pools and waterslides in a busy exciting hotel, I suggest the Grand Wailea. If you prefer a quiet hotel with pampering service, try the Four Seasons. Both of those are discussed in more detail, with links, at
South Maui Hotels
Maui Hotels and Maui Condos Moderate
For a less expensive hotel on the best beach on Maui, I recommend the Kaanapali Beach Hotel. It is discussed in more detail, with a link, at
West Maui Hotels
Maui Hotels and Maui Condos Inexpensive
For an inexpensive place on Maui, you will have to choose one of the smaller condo complexes, such as Papakea, which is discussed here
West Maui Condos
or Kamaole Sands, which is discussed here
South Maui Condos
Hawaii Honeymoon Things to Do & Activities
Besides enjoying Maui’s beaches and ocean and your hotel pool, if you want to be busy there are a lot of things to see and do on Maui. Activities include boat tours (snorkeling, whale watching, dinner cruise, fishing, sailing), luaus, biking, horseback riding, helicopter rides, and van tours. See Maui Things to Do.
Hawaii Honeymoon Restaurants
My favorite Maui restaurants for fine dining are Roy’s, Nick’s Fishmarket, Gannon’s, and Merriman’s. For moderate-priced Maui restaurants, I like Kimo’s, Cafe O’Lei, Koa’s, and Cuatro. My inexpensive recommendations are Penne Pasta, Baguette Bistro, Pita Paradise, and Cafe Des Amis. All of these and more Maui restaurants are discussed in detail at Maui Restaurants.
Maui Spa Day
A visit to a world-class spa is an excellent way to kick off a Hawaiian honeymoon and shake off post-wedding fatigue. Spa Montage Kapalua Bay offers one of the luxurious spa experiences on the island. In addition to a handful of island-inspired therapies, Spa Montage hosts a variety of romantic couples’ treatments.
Private Sail
Few things are more romantic than a private sail with Maui Custom Charters. Choose from the sporty S/V Artemis, a 47′ fully loaded sailing catamaran, or the S/V Nova, a 42′ sleek and luxurious sailing yacht, and set the stage for an unforgettable honeymoon experience. Exclusive snorkel tours, whale watches, and intimate sunset cruises are accompanied by deluxe service, gourmet bites, and stellar views at every turn— collectively crafting an unforgettable experience for honeymooning couples time and time again.
