Mokapu Beach Maui
Mokapu Beach In Front of The Andaz Wailea Resort
Mokapu Beach is a beach in front of the Andaz Maui resort hotel in Wailea. This beach is not large, but it connects directly to its north with much longer Keawakapu Beach, so together they make a nice long beach for walking on the sand.
The Andaz is at the site of the former Renaissance Hotel, north of the Marriott and Grand Wailea resorts. The Andaz is a luxury hotel that opened here in 2013. Mokapu beach is at the bottom of a hill in front of the Andaz. There are two luxury restaurants in that hotel, but there are not any convenient casual restaurants adjacent to the beach.
Ulua Beach is immediately south of Mokapu Beach, with a small lava peninsula and some dense dry trees separating these two beaches. They share a common public parking lot, and are connected by the Wailea Beachwalk. These two beaches are sometimes crowded because they are used by guests of the adjacent hotels and condos. All beaches in Hawaii are public, so you can use Mokapu beach without staying at the hotel here. But there are other less crowded and larger beaches on Maui, including Big Beach a couple of miles south of here.
Here’s a link to several other Maui beaches.
