About the original Mill House Restaurant
Maui chef Jeff Scheer was named Chef of the Year in 2015. He created a menu based on fresh ingredients, many of which were grown on the property of Maui Tropical Plantation. The menu changed to make the best use of the crops that were available. The menu was not long, but it did include seafood, meats, and vegetarian choices. The view through the plantation with the West Maui Mountains in the distance is spectacular.
There are two actual old locomotives that are fun to see inside the restaurant.
A special dining event called “Chef’s Table” occurred at the Mill House on Friday and Saturday evenings. The chef produced a 7-course meal featuring interactive dining, where guests could discuss each food item with the chef as he served them in his open-air kitchen.
