About La Provence Maui
La Provence has been here since 2003 but is mostly only known to Maui residents, and few tourists find it. When they do, they are delighted with the delicious French baked goods, breakfast crepes, lunch sandwiches, and wonderful dessert pastries.
The metal dining tables with metal chairs are all outdoors, some covered and some uncovered. The restaurant is on the slopes of Haleakalā, so from the uncovered area there is a great view down to the central valley of Maui, and across to the West Maui Mountains. Many locals just carry out the French baked goods, but if you decide to dine here the service can be very slow since the staff is minimal. They only accept cash (no credit cards).
For breakfast, they feature crepes and quiches. For lunch, it’s salads and sandwiches. Carry-out from the bakery section has a wide variety including buns, scones, croissants, Napoleons, tarts, small cakes, and pies.
