Newest Maui Article: Road to Hana

Viewpoints Gallery is a large art gallery in the Courtyard shopping building in Makawao.  It is at 3620 Baldwin Avenue, phone 808-572-5979.

At Viewpoints Gallery, you will find Hawaii-themed paintings, wooden sculptures, pottery, jewelry, bowls, photography, fiber, art from dozens of Maui and Hawaii artists, and an ever-changing selection of exhibitions. Some examples of recent exhibits have been Celebration of Hawaii, Art from Doodles, American Icons, Art of Hula, and Hawaiian Flora and Fauna.

Makawao is historically known as Maui’s paniolo (cowboy) town.  But in modern times, it has become home to art galleries, souvenir shops, and restaurants. This is the town for art, painting, sculpture, and ceramics in Upcountry, which is the part of Maui on the lower eastern slope of Haleakala volcano. Makawao is also home to Maui’s best-known glass-blowing and glass art gallery, Hot Island Glass, which is in the same Courtyard shopping center as Viewpoints Gallery.

See links to other Maui art galleries about halfway down on the Maui Shopping page.
