Where Do Local People Eat?
QUESTION
My wife and I like to try restaurants that are very local, and generally try to avoid chain style restaurants. We will be on Maui for a week, staying at one of the big hotels on Kaʻanapali Beach. I was hoping you could tell me some locations that are “hidden gems” that we should try out.
ANSWER
Wonderful restaurants are one of my favorite things about Maui. Bear in mind that you will have to get away from the tourist areas, in order to get to local places, so some of them will be 45 to 60 minutes away from your hotel. Here are the restaurants I recommend that I think will be the type of local hidden gems that you want to try out.
