About Kai Pua Art Studio and Gallery
Maui’s most famous glass blowing shop is in Makawao, in Upcountry. But if you are staying on, or visiting, the west side of Maui, you no longer have to drive an hour to Makawao to see glass blowing. At Kai Pua Gallery in Lahaina, you can watch glass artists shape colored glass into a wide variety of small art pieces. Even if you are not interested in buying, it’s fun to watch them heat and work with the glass.
The owner artists here are Anna Keay and John Lindquist. Kai means ocean and pua means flower. But ocean creatures and flowers are not the only figures you will find at Kai Pua.
