Maui Hula Videos
Free Hula Shows at Shopping Center in Kaanapali
Whalers Village is a large shopping center in the middle of the Kaanapali Beach hotel-resort area on the west side of Maui. They have a schedule of free shows on a stage in the center of this shopping center. Below are two videos of parts of hula shows at Whalers Village, both filmed in 2012.
The first video is performed by students from a hula school called Halau Hula Malani O Kapehe. Their teacher is Mapuana Samonte-Nowak in Kihei. Their website is kapehehula.com. If you’d like to learn more about Hula, learn about many Hawaiian and Polynesian traditions including Polynesian dancing.
The second video is performed by students from a hula school called Halau Hula O Na Pua O Pakipika, or Te Tiare Patitifa, which means Flowers of the Pacific. Their teacher is Keoni Ionakona Manuel in Wailuku.
