Westin Maui Resort & Spa on Kaanapali Beach
The “Westin Maui Resort & Spa” is right in the middle of Kaanapali Beach, my favorite Maui location. It is next door to Whalers Village shopping center and within easy walking distance of other resort hotels, restaurants, snorkeling, and all beach activities. Phone 808-667-2525.
The Westin has several wonderful pools on multiple levels, with lush trees and bushes and flowers all around them. There are waterfalls and water slides. There is an adults-only pool so you can escape from other people’s kids if you did not bring your kids with you.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]The Westin is composed of two adjacent buildings, with a total of 761 rooms. The Ocean Tower building has smaller rooms (340 square feet inside, plus 40 sq ft on the lanai). Those rooms have a shower but no bathtub. The Beach Tower building has larger rooms (400 square feet inside, plus 56 sq ft on the lanai). Those rooms have a bathtub with a shower. This hotel was the Maui Surf until it was rebuilt and reopened and the Beach Tower building was added by Westin in 1987.
Restaurants in the Westin include The Relish Oceanside (formerly Tropica) (fine dining indoors and outdoor terrace), Relish Burger Bistro (formerly Ono Bar & Grill) (outdoor poolside including buffets), and two snack bars (Colonnade and Sea Dogs).
Do not confuse this Westin Maui resort hotel with the “Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort Villas” which is a new timeshare in a different location, just north of Kaanapali Beach.
