The name Kauhale Makai means Village By The Sea
There are two 6-story buildings on the ocean side of Kihei’s main road, with a total of 168 condo units. There are 12 studios, 60 one-bedroom, and 96 two-bedroom units. All have central air conditioning. On the grounds are a putting green, shuffleboard, barbecues, jacuzzi, pool, children’s wading pool, and laundry facility. It’s about a 500-foot walk across a wide grassy field (but you don’t have to cross any streets) to get to the beach, which is long and narrow and uncrowded.
