Binky’s Maui Gifts & Crafts
About Binky’s
Binky’s was a small specialty store on the west side of Maui, at 626 Front Street, across Front Street from the south end of the banyan tree, in Lahaina. It CLOSED in the second half of 2018.
At Binky’s, you could find unique items not found elsewhere on Maui. They had art, jewelry, beads, yarn, scrimshaw, crystal, piano key art, gifts, art glass, hand-made arts and crafts, and vintage jewelry and art. They offered art classes and classes on jewelry making or on knitting. They had loaner jewelry tools. They could do jewelry restringing including hand-knotting. People without any jewelry-making experience could make their own pendant necklace at a fraction of what it would cost to buy it elsewhere on Maui.
Binky’s Prices
Prices at Binky’s were below those in Maui’s more expensive tourist jewelry stores on Front Street in Lahaina, Whalers Village in Kaanapali, and the Shops at Wailea. The store was owned and run by Robin Ritchie, who knows a lot about what’s going on, on Maui, and loves to share that information. You’d usually find her in the store. It was a good place to visit when you are right across the street at Lahaina’s banyan tree.
