Great Walking at Sugar Beach Maui
Sugar Beach is a long sandy beach on Maalaea Bay, on the south edge of Maui’s central valley. It’s near Maui’s aquarium, north of Kihei and south of Lahaina, so between the west and south side Maui hotels, condos, and resorts. This is a great place for long walks on the beach. The name “Sugar Beach” comes from the sugary consistency of its fine light-colored sand.
Condos on Sugar Beach include Sugar Beach Condo and Kealia Condo. There are several restaurants in the nearby Harbor Shops. Boats for snorkeling and whale-watching depart from the nearby Maalaea Harbor.
