About Habibi

For such a small restaurant, I’m surprised that Habibi Maui has so many choices on the menu. There are two salads, three types of bread, six shawarmas, four Mezza plates, four pizzas, five sides, and two desserts. You may think that pizza is odd to be included, but these pizzas all have a Mediterranean twist to them. I love the food here.

You order your food at the counter, and either carry it out or else eat it at one of the few outdoor tables. There is a light cloth, tent-like cover over the dining area, to provide shade. Although the setting is on the main street of Makawao, the restaurant is set slightly back off of the street, surrounded by a small area of trees.

This is an excellent place to have lunch or an afternoon snack when you are spending the day visiting Sherri Reeve Gallery, Hot Island Glass, Maui Hands Art, T Komoda Bakery, and all of the other sights of Makawao, upcountry’s old cowboy town.
